Vitamin E: A key ingredient for healthier brains?

Here’s one thing you probably should know about Maret Traber, in her own words: “I’ve spent my whole life studying vitamin E.”

It’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it is true that Traber, a professor at the Oregon State University College of Public Health and Human Sciences and a principal investigator at OSU’s Linus Pauling Institute, has spent years building the case that vitamin E is essential for human health.

Now, she and other OSU researchers have added an intriguing new building block to the case: In research recently published in the Journal of Lipid Research, Traber and her colleagues have uncovered a possible link between vitamin E deficiency and neurological damage.
